Network Management

Bridging IT to Physical Security in a single box

The PlaSec Collaborative Platform provides integral network security for physical access control infrastructures by including modules for firewall, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Network Address Translation (NAT), routing and Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs). These modules allow the separation and protection of the physical access control end points from direct network access. The administrator may configure the physical access end points or network security modules using a standard browser or command line interface accessible via SSH or serial port.

The PlaSec Collaborative Platform has been designed for distribution of multiple PL-2000 servers across the enterprise based on network bandwidth, local performance or high availability requirements. Each server replicates local modifications to other servers maintaining database consistency across the entire enterprise. Should a server fall offline, when re-connected, the server automatically resynchronizes and rejoins the enterprise network.

All communications over the network use Secure Sockets Layer(SSL) for encryption and authenticity. SSL is available for communications between the PlaSec Collaborative Platform and browser and communications between the PlaSec Collaborative Platform and infrastructure data stores.
