Access Control

Bridging IT to Physical Security in a single box

At the heart of any physical security implementation is access control; the process of filtering the ingress and egress of identities in an organization. This functionality has traditionally taken place through a desktop type PC, sitting under a desk in an office within the the physical security department. Although the access control functionality is no doubt pretty good, the question remaining is, "Where is the data and how is it being communicated to the rest of the organization?". This is a very common situation in most organizations today.

The PlaSec Collaborative Platform performs access control, but also provides functionality for much more. The PlaSec Collaborative Platform is totally unique in that it was designed to take the traditional physical access control function and make it look and feel like a native IT security application. By virtue of deploying the access control functionality within the IT infrastructure, we have greatly simplified and reduced the cost of convergence by eliminating the need for customized middleware and API's traditional access control solutions require in order to enable interoperability.

Hardware Management

The PlaSec Collaborative Platform has the ability to completely control, manage, and provision existing physical door hardware. While reacting to a physical security event, it may be necessary to push new rules to a card reader or door panel such as 2-Factor Authentication, or Door Lock-Out. Having this ability adds tremendous capability to your security department staff. Out-of-the-box, the PlaSec Collaborative Platform seamlessly communicates and interoperates with the following physical hardware:
